# Slack ## Installing the integration You will need permission to install external applications in the workspace. If you don't have it, Slack will display a form to request authorization from the administrator. 1. Go to **Settings > Notifications > Integrations**. 2. In the Slack integration, click **Install**. 3. Authorize the integration on the Slack screen. If you need to request permission from the workspace administrator, we suggest the following message: > I request permission to install the integration with the Glass Data platform ([https://glassdata.io](https://glassdata.io)). This integration will send monitoring alerts to selected channels and will have no read permissions in the workspace. ## Creating a notification channel 1. Go to **Settings > Notifications > Notification channels > New notification channel**. 2. In the **Type** field, select **Slack**. 3. In the **Integration** field, select the installed workspace. 4. Fill in the **Channel name** without `#`. 5. Click **Create**. To test the channel after creating it, use **⋮ > Send test**. ## Private channels If the channel is private, the bot will not be added automatically. Before creating the notification channel, join the channel and run: ``` /invite @Glass Data ```
