Users
The Users area lists the people with access to the account and the access profile assigned to each one. Access is account-specific: a user must be invited to each account they should operate in.
Invite a user
Under Settings > Users > New user:
- Provide the person’s name and email.
- Select the desired access profile (see Access profiles).
- Click Invite.
The platform sends an invitation email with instructions to set up a password. The user only gains access after accepting the invitation.
If the email is already registered in another Glass Data account, the invitation links the existing user to the current account without requiring a new password.
Access profiles
Each user has one access profile per account, which defines the set of allowed actions. Profiles are cumulative: each profile adds permissions to the previous one, without removing any.
| Access profile | Permissions |
|---|---|
Read only (read_only) | Views all resources and changes nothing: explores events, opens dashboards and consults alerts. |
Analyst (analyst) | Everything in Read only, plus: adds and removes list items, generates and downloads exports and creates dashboards. |
Editor (editor) | Everything in Analyst, plus: creates and empties lists, writes and publishes rules, metrics, analyses and notifications. |
Administration (admin) | Everything in Editor, plus: invites and removes users, manages API keys, integrations and the account itself. |
The Read only profile keeps the saved searches and the Explore column selection as the user’s own. The user edits both even without write permission on the account.
The Editor profile covers notification routing, but not the credentials of the integrations they use. Those credentials remain restricted to Administration.

The invitation sets the access profile. To change it later, open Settings > Users and use the menu of the desired person.
Edit and remove
- To change a user’s access profile, open Settings > Users and click ⋮ > Edit on the desired row.
- To revoke access, use ⋮ > Remove. Removal applies only to the current account; the user keeps access to the other accounts they were invited to.
- A user cannot remove their own access. Ask another person with the Administration profile to perform the operation.
